Last week, SAP Hybris got us excited once again with the release of SAP Hybris Commerce 6.0. The leader in the Gartner Magic Quandrant for Digital Commerce put great effort into this major upgrade, to stay ahead of the competition and emphasize the strength of the Customer Engagement & Commerce portfolio of SAP Hybris.
This release is a great deal for SAP Hybris, and off course also for us as a dedicated partner for many years. A few highlights:
During the SAP Hybris Summit in February of this year, the next generation CMS was already introduced as SAP Hybris CX (Customer eXperience). The live preview, drag & drop and SmartEdit functionality showcased in this initial release looks really promising. The backwards compatibility with the WCMS environment will allow a better migration instead of a big bang scenario.
The enhancements of the new backoffice environment was already started throughout the 5.x lifecycle but is now finalized for several environments like the HMC (Hybris Magement Console), OMS (Order Management Services) and the Customer Support Cockpit.
The rule based promotion engine will greatly improve the marketing agility of the platform, but also got us thinking about the strategy. Pricing and promotion calculations should not only live in the commerce solution but should be accessible for any module and application, by preference in the cloud as micro-services with unlimited scaling. Therefore we hope that this module will also be introduced into the YaaS (Hybris as a Service) platform.
