Customer Case Waterbear Network

WaterBear Network is the first interactive streaming platform dedicated to the future of our planet.

The platform offers inspiring content, uses innovative technology that facilitates action and collaborates with a global network of more than 70 NGOs, including GreenPeace, the WWF and the World Fair Trade Organization. WaterBear enables viewers to take immediate action to support these charities and thus contribute to a better future on this planet.

Project goals


In order to reach out to and attract as many new, potential members and to offer them a tailormade selection matching their particular interest; SAP Marketing Cloud was chosen.

Via CPI (Cloud Platform Integration) it is able to connect to the streaming platform to collect customer data on one hand and to all social channels on the other hand. The functionality and magic within SAP Marketing takes care of personalization.

The project was focused on the configuration of SAP MC and the integration with Axonista (streaming platform), Firebase (app), Facebook, Google Ads and Amazon.


Succes story

After a few months it came clear that integrating with the streaming platform was the critical factor – taking a lot of time to set up all integrations.

For that reason, it was decided to split the project in half and to create two milestones instead of one.

On October 7th we had the Soft Launch of the project. Entailing a full configuration of SAP MC and resulting in a first email “Welcome” campaign to early subscribers. Allowing the Marketing Team to gear up and spread the news about this initiative with magnificent and appealing images and content.

The Hard Launch, with all integrations working and SAP MC further optimized with trigger-based campaigns; is set for the second week of November.

We want to offer our members and the NGOs the best possible experience. This requires a modern marketing solution that enables relevant and personal communication.
